Friday 4th April - walk ***** – Holywells Park in Ipswich including
a picnic – sunny and warm.
The warmest day of the year so far here in Suffolk, breaking 20 degrees
away from the coast where a cool breeze from the NE keep temperature down!
The was probably enough wind for w windsurf oil but Friday is Maeva day and
she is such fun at the moment I thought it was a good day for a picnic out.
Mag went to pick Maeva up at 10.30 by which time I had done my exercises in
the sunshine, we had a great time in the garden for awhile she can really
entertain herslf with just a few cars and some jingly balls and enjoyed
spraying Mags plants with water. I then packed a picnic and we decided to
get away from the coast by driving over to Ipswich to visit one of our
favourites, Holywells Park. We parked easily which was a surprise due to
the great weather definitely t-shirt and shorts day as we took the back way
into the park following the stream which was sadly covered in duck weed as
were all the ponds and lakes, along with the plastic bottle thrown in it
looked a little sad:( We stopped to feed the geese and ducks and spotted
two egrets preening before taking the circular route around the edge of the
lovely park. Maeva soon wanted to get out of the buggy and had fun kicking
leaves and jumping, we bumped into one of our sons mates and stopped to
chat! We were surprised to spot our first bluebells, really early this year
as we came out by the stables before walking down to the lake near the
playground finding a nice spot to spread out our blanket for our picnic and
to play with the toys we had taken, just relaxing in the sunshine was just
perfect. We then feed the ducks again before having some fun on the park,
the highlight being when Maeva went down the slide the static electricity
made her fine hair stand on end! We tried every swing and meet some really
nice people too out enjoying having fun with young children! Maeva was
getting tired now so it was back in the buggy for her but she wanted to get
out so walked the last bit back to the van, she was shattered and soon went
to sleep on the drive back to Felixstowe, what a top day was had by
all!!!
